On 28th May 2019, a planning application by UKOG (234) Ltd was ‘validated’ by Surrey County Council and made public shortly after. The application concerns the exploration and appraisal of hydrocarbon minerals at a proposed site on farmland within 1.2km of Dunsfold village.
The planning decision for this application lies with Surrey County Council. Waverley Borough Council is a statutory consultee, as is Dunsfold Parish Council.
There is not much time so please take your opportunity to have your say.
Waverley Council is collecting local views on the proposal. There are plans to hold a ‘select committee’ and invite interested parties to discuss the proposal. The consultation with Waverley officially closes on 28th June 2019 and it will send its response into Surrey.

The Surrey County Council (SCC) consultation is the main one. Officially it closes on 8th July 2019 but officials at Surrey have indicated objections will be accepted up until the end of July, possibly longer.

It seems SCC then periodically passes all comments it receives back to Waverley and Waverley publishes these on the WA/2019/0796.
If you would like to keep up with progress on the application, or understand more about the matters that you might think about before either objecting or supporting the objections, please see the Facebook page Waverley Against Drilling.
